Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Between our televisions, cell phones, video games, and computers, we Americans spend 85% to 95% of our time indoors. Sadly, some of our indoor spaces have very poor air quality.

When creating a safe indoor environment for our homes, the goal is to eliminate, isolate, and ventilate.

Eliminate: We should first try to eliminate materials that are likely to cause problems with our indoor air quality.

Isolate: When we can eliminate a source of pollution or an hazardous material, we should isolate it from our living space.

Ventilate: Most experts now agree that we should replace stale and often contaminated with fresh, but filtered outdoor air.
